The Bride Squad

Philip is my little (big) brother and has been one of my greatest support systems growing up. We definitely fight 👊🏽 a lot, but he always has my back no matter what! He’s the first of my family to come to the States and he is studying to be a lawyer 👨🏽‍⚖ and paved the way for me to do the same! From playing sports, music and studying, we did almost everything together and I am so grateful that he is standing by me as my Man of Honour.

Rachel is my beautiful cousin from the UK and is one of the most fun people I know. She loves to travel and enjoy life ✈️. Growing up I remember, we were the ones who would take care of (bully) all our cousin brothers 😂. She is one of the most caring and kind souls that I know and I am so grateful to have her and her family in my life.

Anna is one of my oldest friends, and although she is younger than me, I call her ‘chechi’ (older sister). She is one of the most responsible and mature women that I have been blessed to know and grew up with. We went to church camps together🏕️, pulled pranks together, and spent most summers together singing “My life would suck without you” 🎤 and having deep conversations. She is on her way to being a doctor🩺, is an amazing singer and worship leader and I can’t wait to see her once again in the US!

Sonya is one of the cousins I’ve spent the most time with when her family moved to Melbourne. Most of our conversations revolve around which generation’s music is better🎵, which eventually ends with a lecture on life, whether asked for or not! You’ll never be bored with her around, cause she always has a story to tell, but she speaks a million miles an hour!🚄 She has been there for every one of my major milestones in life and I’m so glad that she can be a part of our big day!

Sarah is a friend from church who I love dearly. She is an amazing person and a psychologist who knows how to mess with your mind! 🤯😂 We’ve had countless sleepovers and can talk about the most random stuff for hours on end! I can’t wait to see her again in the US and to have her by my side.

Zoe is a great girl who I met recently. She is a really smart cookie 🍪 and is on her way to becoming a doctor🥼. She is very involved in the community, she stands for what is right and could potentially out debate us all in a jiffy! I can’t wait to see her and have her with in the US!

Lincy is Jeremy’s brother, Jeff’s wife and is based in New York. I’ve heard she is an amazing chef 👩🏽‍🍳 and I’ve seen the pictures to prove it! She is someone I am so excited to meet – my new sister to be! 😊 Having her by my side is such a perfect way to get to know her!

Trina was my housemate for over three years in Melbourne and is one of the sweetest people I know, especially for being able to put up with me! 😂 She is the Monica to my Rachel and I bet if I were still in Melbourne, she would have a colour coded binder 🗂️ ready to help plan the big day. We pretty much did everything together, from travelling across Victoria, scuba diving to see sting rays, jumping off airplanes, going to concerts, working out, cooking and eating together every night. Even though circumstances don’t permit her to be with us in Charleston, she has been an integral part of our story and will be with us, watching online!

Naemat is my oldest friend – literally jutty 🩲 buddies! We’ve known each other since first grade and for over two decades, she has been more like a sister, my confidant, my constant and the one person I can’t seem to get rid of! 😂 Even though we’ve been miles apart, I know she’s got my back no matter what. She is my travel and adventure buddy who I have backpacked with 🎒, witnessed a sunrise over an active volcano with, snorkeled and been cliff diving with. This day is not going to be easy without her by my side, but she will be watching, cheering us on all the way!

The Groomsmen

Jeff is my one and only sibling, and has known me the longest. He ruined my plans to be an only child when he showed up 18 months after me. We were inseparable growing up, though we did fight a lot. Growing up we went to school together, played video games, sports, music, and everything together. He has been by my side most of my life so I am honored to have him by my side on my big day as well.

Zack is one of my closest friends and a true brother. He claims he is my ultimate fan, but I’m pretty sure he just stalked me online for a long time. Ever since I moved to Charlotte back in 2017, we connected and became best friends ever since. Zack helped make Charlotte home for me until he moved away to Dallas not too long ago. We also share a passion for consumer tech/gadgets, wings, and tv shows. We have tried almost every wing place in the greater Charlotte area.

Philip is a dear friend and someone I consider a spiritual brother (like David and Jonathan). We have shared a lot of memories together, from our first trip to North Carolina back in 2016 to the Bethel conference and beach trip in California, leading worship together in various places, guitar center jam sessions, and trying out different food spots. We always pick up from where we last left off and will be there for one another for life.

Austin is an adventure seeker and a very good friend that I share a ton of experiences with. From all the concerts we have been to (Jesus Culture Conference, Kari Jobe & Rend Collective, Amanda Cook, Switchfoot & Needtobreathe, Bastille, and many more), to the countless sleepovers at his house, and various trips we have taken (including a mission trip to Guatemala), Austin has been a loyal and faithful friend through it all.

Stephan is a close friend, brother, and confidant of mine. He has counseled me, given me countless advice, and been a spiritual voice of reason in my life. From our late night workouts at LA Fitness, Sybil’s/Trini City runs for Trini food, convincing me to buy 20 inch rims for my Honda Accord Sport (RIP), to remodeling my house in Deer Park, Stephan has been there for me through many years of my life.

Juswin is more a close little brother than a cousin to me. We have gotten much closer during the last few years. We provide a fresh perspective on things for each other and have some deep theological discussions as well. I have enjoyed the various trips he has made to Charlotte and hope to spend some time in LA with him soon. Juswin is very mature and driven. We are both foodies and have a weakness for fresh apple cider donuts.

Josh and I are the closest in age of the cousins on my mom’s side. We share a love for the finer things in life: music, traveling, food, coffee, and bourbon. Josh pushes me to live my life for myself and to not be crippled by what others think of me (very hard for me as an enneagram 3). He is also one of the most meticulous and hardest working guys I know.
